Joining the fellowship of former HNIB Elite players to be drafted in 2012 was Brian Hart. Hart played for the New England Elite, coached by Sean Tremblay, in Hockey Night in Boston's 2011 Elite Showcase, winning the Championship game against the Northeast Elite.

Brian Hart was selected 53rd overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning, after several impressive seasons for Phillips Exeter. Brian Hart and Mark Jankowski represent the level of talent in the HNIB Elite Showcase.

Last year, 5 USA teams competed against the second place team from Russia's YHL, the Magnitogorsk Steel Foxes. This year, the FIRST place Omsk Hawks will travel overseas to compete against the 5 USA Elite teams this August 2-5 at the Haverhill Valley Forum in Haverhill, MA.
